Mission Statement

The Jackson Choral Society, one of the oldest non-profit arts organizations in Mississippi, has existed since 1960 in order to give dedicated singers the opportunity to study a myriad of choral works; to enrich the community’s cultural life by presenting artistic performances; and to enable both singer and listener to connect emotionally with outstanding music which transcends time and uplifts the spirit.

Join Us As We Begin Celebrating Our 50th Birthday!

Under the skillful leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Nancy Osman Moore, Professor Emeritus of Music at Delta State University, the men and women of JCS welcome a wonderful mixture of non-professional and professional musicians, veteran singers, and college and advanced high school singers to its ranks.

Our 2010 spring presentation will feature the K. Lee Scott Requiem plus several selections which have been favorites of the JCS singers over the years.  During the 2010 fall concert, the musicians will be premiering a work commissioned by the Choral Society to commemorate our Fifty Year Jubilee.

This web-site is a work in progress and all links are not yet activated.  Please return to our site a bit later for the final product.  Thank you for your interest in the Jackson Choral Society.
